ALICE COOPER Comments On Guitarist RYAN ROXIE's Return - Apr. 10, 2012

http://legacy.roadrunnerrecords.com/bla ... mID=172447

Legendry rocker Alice Cooper has announced his band lineup for his 2012 "No More Mr Nice Guy" tour, with guitarist Ryan Roxie back with the band after several years absence.

Ryan joins an extraordinary team. Longtime Alice bassist Chuck Garric, jaw-dropping drummer Glen Sobel and guitarists Tommy Henriksen and Orianthi make up one of the most exciting rock and roll bands in the world today.

"It's great to bring Ryan back into the fold," says Alice, "This band just destroys on stage, and with Ryan back on board, he will only kick things into a higher gear. Ryan Roxie is a fan favorite. He plays like a tornado, and we can't wait to turn him loose and let him tear into this tour."

Se alkaa tänä vuonna. Yltää Suomeenkin asti aivan varmasti.

Juuri tuli CDON:lta komea digipack.

Sobel pesee kyllä ainaki Degrasson Alicen rumpalina mennen tullen. Singer on kyl ollut henk.koht. suosikki.

Onko tämä miten varma tieto? Alice on ennenkin hehkuttanut ja sitten unohtanut tehdä lupaamiaan asioita :D

Missasit pointin, mutta ei se mitään. Jatkakaa kernaasti jämä-rumpaleista keskustelemista ilman minua, vaikka Singer ei sentään niihin kuulukaan...

Varmaa tuskin on mikään nykyään, mutta ennakkotietojen perusteella uuden albumin mukaista spektaakkelia on suunniteltu jo tovin, viime kesän festarit ja muut halusivat vetää vielä No More Mr. Nice Guy -teemalla, ilmeisesti tämä tulevakin kiertue menee samalla nimellä mutta uudella showasetelmalla..? Nyt uuden albumin myötä uuden shown suunnittelu on varmaan menossa täyttä häkää. Sopivasti vielä Ryan Roxie takaisin ruotuun. Jouluaaton tienoilla Alice kuitenkin puheli kuinka 2011 oli täynnä kaikenlaista ja 6 kuukauden loma alkamassa...mutta ilmeisesti tämän "loman" aikana kuitenkin treenaillaan uutta settiä kuntoon.

27.3.2011:

"We have to do the whole festivals tour first which will be South America, Australia, Europe, Canada, all over the States. That's going to be a big kind of heavy Alice show. But the [tour] after that will be 'Welcome To My Nightmare Part Two' — 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare,' and it's going to be a full-out nightmare so I almost can't wait for that one. The next show is going to be fun. The show after that, the nightmare show, is going to be unbelievable."

Espoo 2009.

Olen vähän myöhäisherännäinen tämän uuden levyn suhteen, mutta nyt on levy pyörinyt soittimessa pari viikkoa hyvin tiuhaan. Tämähän on aivan suorastaan aivan järjettömän kova levy! Alicella oli kuitenkin neljän melkoisen turhan levy putki päällä, enkä oikein uskonut kurssin enään muuttuvan. Tyylillisesti melkoinen sillisalaatti, mutta on pullollaan pirun hyviä biisejä. Vaikka kuinka olisi halunnut tykätä noista edellisten rokki-soundista, mutta hyvät biisit olivat vaan liian harvassa.

Seuraavan kiertueen setin rungon saisi helposti kasattua Nightmare levyistä.

Welcome to my nightmare 2 on Alice Cooperin paras levy.

Kaikki toimii!

Paitsi ainoastaan näemmä molemmille Ismoille :D Tämänhän kyllä piti epäonnistua rumine kansineen, väkinäisine (jota se ei sitten ollutkaan, kiitos vapaan 'nightmare' -tulkinnan) jatko-osaideoineen (kuka sanoi Queensrÿche?) ja nykyajan copy-pastetuotantoineen. Mutta tuo protools ja poptuottajien (Ezrinin ohella levyn Alicen kanssa tehneen Tommy Henriksenin CV sisältää Daughtryn, Lady Gagan & David Cookin) maneerit kääntyvätkin tällä voitoksi!

Itselle aiheuttaa vieläkin kylmiä väreitä tuo What Baby Wants kipale.

"So we're going to do 28 songs..."

"The band is the best band I've ever had. The reviews every time are 'this band is unbelievable.' Orianthi on guitar, Ryan Roxie on guitar, Tommy Henriksen on guitar, Glen Sobel on drums, Chuck Garric on bass and me. And then, of course, extras. But this band gets great reviews every
single night. It's easy for me when I get a band that just takes my songs and really rips 'em."

"We do all the hits, but it's the highest-energy show they're gonna see all year. And Alice is more of a villain now than he's ever been. He's more pronounced than he's ever been."

ALICE COOPER To Record Covers Album - Mar. 13, 2013

http://blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode= ... mID=187400

Legendary rocker Alice Cooper recently spoke to RollingStone.com about his upcoming covers album, which he plans to start recording in December for a 2014 release.

"We do a thing in our show, which is a tribute to Hollywood Vampires, my drinking club," Cooper explained. "And it was Keith Moon, John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Micky Dolenz — a very eclectic bunch of drunks. Half of them are dead, so we do four songs in the show in tribute to them. We do 'Break On Through', 'Revolution', 'My Generation' and Jimi Hendrix's 'Foxey Lady'. I just kind of said, 'We've never done a covers album, let's think about that.' So [producer Bob] Ezrin and I are kind of bouncing it around right now."

Asked what some of the wish-list songs are, Cooper said: "I would keep it right to about '73, '74. I don't want to just go anywhere. I want to keep it right in that sort of drunk era, so it's specific. I would say 'Break On Through', that's a really good rock track there. The other ones, think of it — Harry Nilsson, there's a lot of good stuff there that could be rocked out. I think of songs as being clay. Take a song like 'Jump Into the Fire' and take that to a harder level, and that'll work."

Jumaliste, Dick Wagner on kuollut, yksi Alicen merkittävimmistä kollaboraattoreista. Tuosta vain yksi hienoista biiseistään soimaan, eräs Frank Sinatra muuten coveroi tätä livenä:

Super cool kokoonpano tämä HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES...
PAUL MCCARTNEY, JOE PERRY, JOHNNY DEPP To Guest On ALICE COOPER's Covers Album

March 6, 2015

http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/paul-m ... ers-album/

According to RollingStone.com, THE BEATLES legend Paul McCartney,
actor Johnny Depp and AEROSMITH's Joe Perry make appearances on the
forthcoming album from legendary rocker Alice Cooper featuring songs
that were originally written and recorded by THE DOORS, Jimi Hendrix,
John Lennon and THE WHO — members of the so-called "Hollywood
Vampires" of the early and mid-'70s. Perry has contributed to several
tracks on the CD, while McCartney will be heard on a new version of
"Come And Get It", the song he wrote and produced for BADFINGER.

"He knew all the chords, the lyrics, everything," Perry said. "He
didn't have any cheat sheets. It was like he'd been playing it his
whole life. Me and Alice and Johnny were standing there and looking at
each other, and I tell you — if there's any ego-lever in a room, it's
Paul. It doesn't matter who you are or what you've done. If Paul's in
the room, he's there. It was hard to focus on playing."

The HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES band — featuring Cooper, Perry and Depp — will
perform at the Rock In Rio festival in late September, with more tour
dates scheduled for that month.

Jaahast. Ens sunnuntaina Suvilahdessa meikä pääsee näkemään Lissu Kuupperintestin livenä toisen kerran elämässäni, edellinen oli 2011 Iron Maidenin lämppärinä stadikalla. Nyt ihan pääesiintyjäslotti, lienee siis lupa odottaa pidempää settilistaa mitä aiemmin tänä kesänä Euroopan festareilla veivanneet. Ainakin tuon Wacken 2013 DVD:n perusteella Lissulla on törkeän kova taustabändi mukanaan ja kyseisen DVD:n keikalla soittaneen Orianthin viime kesänä korvannut Nita Strauss on youtuben perusteella HAWT! :P Osaapa likka kaiken lisäksi soittaakin. Varmasti mahtava shöy luvassa, can't wait! :D

Cooperin vahvuudet joilla odotuksesi lunastetaan ja ylitetäänkin:

1. Ensin päätetään settilista, sen pitää rokata kunnolla
2. Sitten vasta luodaan se show siihen ympärille (show aina uusi edelliseen kiertueeseen verrattuna)

ALICE COOPER, JOHNNY DEPP, DAVE GROHL, BRIAN JOHNSON, SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY, SLASH Appear On HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES Debut

August 5, 2015

http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/alice- ... res-debut/

In 1972, on the Sunset Strip at a club called the Rainbow Bar & Grill, the Hollywood Vampires were born in the upstairs bar. It was a gathering place for the rock stars living in or passing through L.A. "To join the club, one simply had to out drink all of the members," says Alice Cooper, a founding member of the Vampires. "I would walk in on a typical night," Alice says, "and John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon — who would usually be in a costume like a maid or a chauffeur — Bernie Taupin, Jim Morrison and Mickey Dolenz would be there. The next week might be Bernie Taupin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Mickey Dolenz."

Three years ago, Alice and good friend Johnny Depp got together and decided the spirit of the Hollywood Vampires should live again (minus the drinking). An environment for great artists to hang, laugh and play together. The Hollywood Vampires live again with the release of the HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES album. Alice and Johnny were joined by Joe Perry, who is an old friend of both of them, and the recording began: a tribute to the original Hollywood Vampires.

For the next two years, Alice, Joe and Johnny, joined by producer Bob Ezrin and an amazing group of modern day vampires, including Perry Farrell, Dave Grohl, Sir Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Slash, Robbie Krieger, Zak Starkey, Brian Johnson and Kip Winger, recorded tracks by their dead friends and heroes. Also included are two original songs that tell the story of the Vampires, one of which, "Raise The Dead", has an intro by Sir Christopher Lee, recorded just prior to his death.

The album package, an antique book, was created by noted men's fashion designer (and rock fan) John Varvatos in his signature vintage style. Alice and Varvatos, both Detroit natives, have been partners in fashion for several years with Alice lending his classic rock style as a brand ambassador.

A sneak peek at the liner notes, penned by original Hollywood Vampire Bernie Taupin, "I'm not here to defend their vices. Over-indulgence of any sort does not ultimately constitute for a healthy mind and body. And while on the periphery of those involved, wives may have come and gone, career choices may have been deemed dubious, and heartbreak in some cases stalked a dark corridor, but in the lair of the Hollywood Vampires only joy and laughter reigned."

"I'm not completely sure what constituted bad behavior back then, but in this lair it existed in a bubble, a hermetically sealed dome of fun. It may not have been the round table at the Algonquin, but these were witty, intelligent guys who often got raucous and loud, but rest assured there were no bystanders or animals hurt in the making of the Hollywood Vampires."

All artist proceeds will be donated to MusiCares.

"Hollywood Vampires" will be released on September 11.

The track listing for the CD is as follows:

01. The Last Vampire
02. Raise The Dead
03. My Generation
04. Whole Lotta Love
05. I Got A Line
06. Five To One/Break On Through

Uutinen joka todella lämmittää mieltä...
Työmyyrä vauhdissa: 68-vuotias Alice Cooper työskentelee ei yhden vaan kahden uuden albumin kimpussa

Saku Schildt
20:09 - 18.02.2016

http://www.soundi.fi/uutiset/tyomyyra-v ... -kimpussa/

Alice Cooper kertoi ABC News Radion haastattelussa työstävänsä paraikaa kahta levyä samanaikaisesti. Oman sooloalbuminsa lisäksi työn alla on Hollywood Vampiresin toinen levy.

Vastaavasti jos minä olen keikalla ja he sattuvat olemaan lähistöllä, he nousevat lavalle. Välillämme ei ole koskaan ollut pahaa verta.”

Hollywood Vampiresin uusista metkuista Cooper mainitsee, että yhtye sisällyttää settiinsä jonkun David Bowien kappaleen. Kiintoisaa.

Ihan kiva fantasia, lähtisin kyllä tsekkaamaan tätä Helsinkiin, Tampereelle tai vaikka Seinäjoellekin! :o
Todellinen raskaan sarjan superbändi tulee… no, melkein Suomeen!

http://www.soundi.fi/uutiset/todellinen ... n-suomeen/
