Tyyliin 'the only show in southern Germany' tuosta viimeksimainitusta Stuttgartista ym.

No nyt on Ranskan 15.11. ja Tsekin/Slovakian 25.-26.11. jälkeen Ruotsi ollut vuorossa, "the only Pumpkins United concert in Sweden! Göteborg, Partille arena 2nd December 2017" -olisko meillä soumessa sitten Nordista tammikuulle '18 vuorossa? Tuo ekana julkistettu Espanjahan oli 9.12. joten aika hyppelyä germaaneilla.

& Kiske puhuu:
..to Spain's TNT Radio Rock about the reunion of the classic lineup of German power metallers HELLOWEEN. Dubbed "Pumpkins United", the band's upcoming tour will feature seven musicians — including former members Kiske and Kai Hansen (guitar), alongside current singer Andi Deris and guitarist Sascha Gerstner — performing material spanning HELLOWEEN's entire three-decade-plus history.

On whether he has repaired his relationship with HELLOWEEN guitarist Michael Weikath:

Kiske: "Yeah. It had been a long story. It didn't happen overnight. It started with me getting older, and somehow inside of me things changed over the last three or four years, without noticing. And it really started when I ran into him at Sweden Rock [Festival] again, I think, in 2013. And he said to me… The first thing he said was, 'What have I done that you can't forgive me?' That was the first line he said to me. And I realized that I had forgiven somehow a long time ago without noticing. That's how it all started. And also, looking back at the years after HELLOWEEN, I have gained so much out of it. Having to be on my own, having to be responsible for records, and even all the painful things that I got through, I gained so much from it on a human level that I can't really be angry anymore. Sometimes it's not easy to understand, for people, when you say something like that. But that's why it was also easy for me to forget about it all and start talking again, because I just realized that it was all good for me. I was so blessed, spiritually, especially during that time, that I don't wanna miss it, really, so I can't really be angry anymore."

On other factors that played a part in his decision to reunite with HELLOWEEN:

Kiske: "In the last number of years, the HELLOWEEN guys were always sending out these signals. More and more in interviews, they were talking about that they would love to do some reunion kind of stuff, or a tour with me and Kai together. They were always sending out these signals, which I found kind of confusing at first — I didn't know what to think about it — but it was also a good thing to do. It helped me to get to the point that, after a great show in Spain, actually, with UNISONIC — we had three very nice concerts in 2014 in Spain — and at the last gig, Kai said something like, 'Michael, if we don't ever do anything again under the name of HELLOWEEN, we're just idiots.' And before that, a year before, I met Weiki [Michael Weikath]— the thing that I just told you earlier [about our encounter at Sweden Rock] — and I just said, 'You know what, Kai? I'm open.' And that's how it all really started… Kai has a lot to do with it. He was just throwing that thing out at the perfect time. He wanted to do it. And I was with him for a number of years in HELLOWEEN and UNISONIC. We enjoyed it, so it was kind of… Maybe it was just the next thing to do somehow."

On whether the upcoming shows on the "Pumpkins United" tour will see each singer performing songs from his respective era of HELLOWEEN:

Kiske: "Yeah, that's the main thing, of course, that's gonna happen. I mean, it's not the usual kind of reunion you would see, because no one is leaving, you know — we're just coming to the whole bunch and we do it all together, with celebrating thirty years of this band. And, of course, I'll be doing the stuff that I got known for in HELLOWEEN, like the ['Keeper Of The Seven Keys: Part I' (1987) and 'Keeper Of The Seven Keys: Part II' (1988)] songs mainly, and Andi will hold up the flag for his phase, and then pick the strong songs for Kai [to] do, a little bit, with his 'Walls Of Jericho' [1985] kind of era. And then we do some duets maybe and we do some swapping. And I might even sing a song of Andi's phase and vice versa and stuff. We're trying to make it an interesting knd of thing, and we've put a lot of money in there to have an interesting show set, with big screens. We want this to be a very special thing in the end. With all those years that this band has existed, and all those records that had been released, there's a whole lot of stuff we can actually choose from."

On HELLOWEEN's decision to not stage the "usual" kind of reunion where other, later eras of the band get ignored in favor of the early "classics":

Kiske: "When I first said something to Kai, that I was open [to taking part in a HELLOWEEN reunion], of course I had in mind maybe just doing only the 'Keeper' band with a new drummer, and just playing that [early] stuff, but I like a lot better the way we are doing this now, because I think this sends out a very nice message. Even when you are enemies for a long time of your life, you can sort it out. You can forgive. Even if you were really hurt, and things were really bad for you during a certain time, there's always a possibility to bury it and to forgive… I never met Andi before, and the first time I met him, we got along very well; we had a very nice connection as people, as persons. And I think it's a great idea to do it this way — everybody involved and as a team together. I think this sends out a very good message."

On why former HELLOWEEN guitarist Roland Grapow (1989-2001) isn't involved in the reunion tour:

Kiske: "As far as I know, they asked him [to take part in it], and he didn't wanna do it. That was the information . He's probably still hurt. I know how it feels. When this stuff is fresh, it's difficult."

On the possibility of HELLOWEEN playing the "Keeper Of The Seven Keys: Part I" and "Keeper Of The Seven Keys: Part II" albums in their entirety on the upcoming tour:

Kiske: "We can't play them completely. We will be, anyway, getting close to three hours, playing-wise, but that means it can't be the whole two records. But it'll be the key songs. We might even change it here and there. We wanna make it very balanced out, that both phases are equally covered — the Andi phase and the Michael phase. And we also wanna do some duets and stuff like that. So we have too much to choose from to really play everything from the 'Keeper' [albums]. But it'll be a big part."

"Pumpkins United" touring lineup:

Michael Kiske - Vocals
Kai Hansen - Guitar
Michael Weikath – Guitar
Markus Grosskopf - Bass
Andi Deris - Vocals
Sascha Gerstner - Guitar

Kattellaan...

Olet oikeasti better off without, jos katsot jotain youtube-videoita viime ajoilta.

No Dokkenin näki jo 1988 Helsingin jäähallissa Ac/Dc lämppärinä. Nyky Dokjen on lähinnä väsähtänyt vitsi.

Haastattelijana muuten muinainen helloween.orgin webmaster sieltä viime vuosituhannelta :)
Tony Webster of "The Metal Command" radio show recently conducted an interview with current HELLOWEEN singer Andi Deris about the reunion of the band's classic lineup. Dubbed "Pumpkins United", the band's upcoming tour will feature seven musicians — including former members Michael Kiske (vocals) and Kai Hansen (guitar), alongside Deris and guitarist Sascha Gerstner — performing material spanning HELLOWEEN's entire three-decade-plus history. A few excerpts from the chat follow below (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On how the HELLOWEEN reunion came about:

Andi: "The whole idea started when GAMMA RAY was supporting HELLOWEEN [in 2008]. It was not scheduled, it was more or less happening accidentally. We met in Hamburg and Kai [Hansen, guitar, also of GAMMA RAY] said, 'We just finished our album.' And Weiki [Michael Weikath, guitar] and I were saying, 'Yeah, we just finished our album. Why don't we tour together for the first time with you supporting HELLOWEEN? That would be great for the fans and they would freak out if you joined HELLOWEEN for the last one or two songs, playing up there like the old days.' That turned out to be such a great spectacle for the people; they really loved it. The next step was quite clear. That would be to ask Michael Kiske if he would like to join and do something like a real reunion, but don't destroy the working band, but bring the people a two-and-a-half- and three-hour show onstage where they have 30 years of metal with the original singer, with me for the next generation, and make a big happening out of it. It worked so nicely with Kai playing the guitar, then the next logical step would be to have the real band onstage as well."

On his relationship with Michael Kiske:

Andi: "I think he doesn't dislike me. [Laughs] I don't dislike him; I think he's a really cool guy. I think he's very laid-back, so he should be a person I can get along with very nicely. Mainly, we were actually thrilled about imagining the fans down there when they finally have the chance to see him sing the old tunes, and then even together with me on one or two tunes from my time. Put it this way, from an ego point of view, I'm so happy not to have to sing all of these high-pitched Michael Kiske songs anymore. I'm so relieved that he's back in the band and I can concentrate on my own shit. That should work really nicely."

On what Hansen's role will be for the live shows:

Andi: "If I go through the songs, I realize there are lots of songs on the studio recordings having more than three guitars, so that should be interesting. We are able to bring onstage even more original CD sounds than possible with two guitars. For all the rest of the songs where there are only two guitars, I think it's great for one of those guys to say 'Goodbye' and have a cigar. [Laughs] It's a five or six-minute break for maybe Sascha [Gerstner, guitar] or maybe Weiki or Kai, then they have a smoke and that's great. That's the way I look at it from my point of view. I'm finally having a break in the show, having some wine, or a good little cigarette, and watching the boys. This is something really interesting. I never had that before. Same goes for Michael [Kiske]. As far as I remember, when we talked about it, he always had a smile on his face and said, 'Yeah, that's cool. After 10 or 15 minutes, I have a break, and you go sing.' It's different, but it could be very interesting, not only for the fans, but also for the band itself. The only guys I'm a bit scared for is Dani [Löble, drums] and Markus [Grosskopf, bass] because they have to play two-and-a-half and three hours without a break. I hope that turns out not to be a problem, and both say 'No, it shouldn't be a problem. It depends on how you design the running order.' You shouldn't play 'Push' and 'Eagle Fly Free' without a song in between in mid-tempo because both of them will probably be dead after these songs. There will be a way. They say it's not a problem, so I believe they are professional enough. Nevertheless, I'm very much looking forward to that. This is unbelievable. Imagine 30 years of metal with one band who was always there and still is here. I personally think it's a great adventure, not only for the fans but myself and ourselves."

On whether the "Pumpkins United" tour will be hitting the U.S.:

Andi: "Yes, absolutely. What you see now with the stuff on Facebook or [by] following our web site, don't worry — these are just the first confirmed dates and there will be dates added nearly every day. When it comes to the United States, we will play at least all the big metropolitan cities, and we're doing Canada. It's just a question of timing, that's all."

On whether HELLOWEEN is writing new songs:

Andi: "Not on purpose. Not consciously. Actually, just sitting on the sofa, collecting ideas, talking for myself, means talking for everybody. I know the guys are the same. At the end of the day, when you are sitting in front of your television and you take 30 minutes, you suddenly have your guitar in your hands again. That's pretty normal. When you have your guitar, you diddle and fiddle around and suddenly there is an idea, but maybe not. Most of the time there is an idea. Just record it to get it off your brain, so to say 'system clearance.' [Laughs] When I don't record it, then it's forever in my head. It's causing me sleepless nights. I have to record it, then I erase it from my hard drive up there in my stupid head. I know that the boys are pretty much the same, everyone is diddling and fiddling around. It's still a hobby. My guitar, that's my life. I was forced to the microphone. I never wanted to be a singer. I wanted to be a guitarist. Now, the only occasion to play guitar is at home writing songs. [Laughs]"

Listen to the entire interview using the audio player below.
edit: Weikin vuoro höpötellä, saa sitten nähdä, tuleeko sieltä biisi vai jopa pari, jos tulee.
Spain's Metal Journal recently conducted an interview with HELLOWEEN guitarist Michael Weikath about the reunion of the band's classic lineup. Dubbed "Pumpkins United", the group's upcoming tour will feature seven musicians — including former members Michael Kiske (vocals) and Kai Hansen (guitar), alongside current singer Andi Deris and guitarist Sascha Gerstner — performing material spanning HELLOWEEN's entire three-decade-plus history. A few excerpts from the chat follow below (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On the possibility of the "Pumpkins United" lineup of HELLOWEEN recording new music:

Weikath: "There's an idea for doing at least one track — at least. Personally, I think we should do more; we should do something like an EP or so. But first of all, we have lots of stuff to run and to check out and to try in order to get the schedule until [the fall] when the first show is going to take place in Mexico City. And to crank all that, if we wanted to come up with one new track as the 'Pumpkins United', I think there's going to be lots of work to do. And so what's in the planning is, for now, just one track."

On how such a track would be released:

Weikath: "I have no idea. I think you can still release it as a vinyl, as an earbook in Nuclear Blast format or whatever. Then you have it on vinyl, and you also have it in CD-single format or whatever. Or you put it on the iTunes or you put it on the webpage or the Facebook as a digital download. I don't know."

On whether the "Pumpkins United" lineup of HELLOWEEN has already written the song that will be recorded:

Weikath: "No, no, no. There's different levels of readiness for that. And I'm also looking into eventually recording something that I have ideas for what it could be and having a real collaboration on the songwriting for something like that. I think it's a far way out. From what I know, Michael Kiske is also on the verge of releasing some solo work as something, and so whatever is going to happen, I have no idea how. But surely we are looking for ideas and brainstorming. Maybe if Kai Hansen comes up with a track, maybe that Deris comes up with a track and I come up with a track or that [bassist] Markus [Grosskopf comes up with one], or someone writes something, and in which way that can be combined, or just one track is being chosen that everybody says, 'Okay, this track is so fucking cool, this is so strong, we take this one.' I have no idea. I don't know."

On whether he would close the door on the possibility of making a full album with "Pumpkins United":

Weikath: "I wouldn't, but that would be a huge undertaking. I have nothing against it, but that would be a huge undertaking. And then, given the laziness of the original HELLOWEEN members — the three ones who are the laziest, and that would be Kai Hansen, Michael Weikath and Michael Kiske. We are extremely lazy. Nobody else is lazy; it's just the three people I told you. Deris claims to be very lazy, but he isn't."

On who was the first to suggest the idea of a tour like "Pumpkins United":

Weikath: "That was always Kai Hansen who said so — always. And usually then Markus and me, we would reject the idea before, because we had different managements, we had different schedules. And also the whole thing needed to be talked about and trust needed to be created. And so it took that process of blah blah blah and whatever, and then to cut things short, a few years later, after we had the 'Hellish Rock' tour, with GAMMA RAY and Kai Hansen, one got a little bit closer and found where the things in common are. And then I had that talk with Michael Kiske at a metal [festival] in France a few years ago. As I keep telling in interviews, I had one whisky in the other hand and I was pouring myself another whisky and I had a cigarette in the hand and I had another cigarette in the mouth when I talked to him, because I was kind of excited to meet that guy again after all this time. I always thought I should call him on the phone, but I never did it, because I thought maybe he feels disturbed or maybe he doesn't have the time. Only because Weiki feels he could call Kiske on the phone, going, 'Hey, how are you?' 'Yeah, right now I'm kind of busy.' And so that's actually why I never, never, never, never called him. And then there was that opportunity, and I said to him, basically, 'You shouldn't be too angry. You just must understand me. Back at that time, I saw myself as the one to put things into the right direction in HELLOWEEN, and the fact was nobody wanted to record another record with you, so I had to find a solution, or an opinion, and I had to state it to you, and this is how things came about back then. And I hope you can maybe forgive me about that, if I tell you this. Just try to understand me, what was going on back then.' And he said, 'Maybe I've already forgiven you. I don't know. But it's better if we talk when you are more sober and not so drunk.' I wasn't really that drunk; I was just really excited. Ever since, we just had meetings with the whole band and Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen about how to do things, because what Kai Hansen had been proposing was only picked up by the management, and they were going, 'Yeah, we think that's a very cool idea, and we should do this.' And then everybody was asking, 'How do we do it?'"

On how long he went without talking to Michael Kiske before they reconnected at the aforementioned French festival:

Weikath: "Ever since [he left the band], after [1993's] 'Chameleon' [album]. 'Cause we didn't know how to touch that subject and whatever, and you could see from the press and his comments that there was understandable discrepancy in our relationship. It was always, like, 'Kai Hansen has said this about you, Weiki, and Michael Kiske has said this about you, Weiki. And what do you say?' And so I was always firing back. And that's not necessary anymore if we have these talks going nad everything. And, basically, there's a time to be a little bit adult and grown up about things. Because so much time passed, there can't possibly be much more trouble, because everyone involved has more or less proven what he is capable of on his own and what he would be. Michael Kiske has been doing the solo records as they are, he's been involved in projects as they are and as they were, we've been doing the HELLOWEEN thing, and Kai Hansen has been doing his stuff. So everybody presented to the public what everyone was capable of. And so that's the history, that's all behind that whole thing. And what is there to quarrel or worry or fight about? There's nothing."

– Meillä on ajatuksena tehdä ainakin yksi biisi.

Me olemme todella laiskoja.

Ostinpahan lipun keikalle.

Chameleon on paska levy.

Walls Of Jericho - Phantoms Of Death

KOTSK I - Twilight Of The Gods

KOTSK II - Keeper Of The Seven Keys
-periaatteessa tätä on kuultu viimeisen 15 vuoden aikana ihan nokko, mutta Kisken vetämänä olisi aivan toinen juttu taas; veikkaan duettona tulevan eikä sekään ole paha juttu.

Pink Bubbles Go Ape - Mankind

Chameleon - Giants

Master Of The Rings - Secret Alibi
-kun muut parhaat (Sole Survivor, Where The Rain Grows, Perfect Gentleman) ovat edes medley-ym. muodossa olleet viime vuosina tai edes joskus ylipäätään soitossa, olisi tällainen spessurundi omiaan ottaa mukaan Weikin varhainen suosikkini, mita ei ole koskaan soitettu.

The Time Of The Oath - Kings Will Be Kings

Better Than Raw - Midnight Sun
-ja kolmatta kertaa sama perustelu; Weikinhän tämäkin on.

The Dark Ride - Salvation
-arvatkaa kuka sävelsi.. & jäänyt korpeamaan kun eivät tulleet 2001 rundilla suomeen.

Rabbit Don't Come Easy - Open Your Life

KOTSK: The Legacy - The King For a 1000 Years
Get It Up tai Silent Rain -harvinaisuudet olisivat muita toiveita tältä, ja aika epätodennäköisiä.

Gambling With The Devil - Final Fortune
-jälleen näitä, minkä soittaminen jätettiin liian aikaisin kiertueellaan kesken, tietysti hyvissä ajoin ennen suomea. Grosskopfin helmiä!

7 Sinners - The Sage The Fool The Sinner
-Markuksen World Of Fantasy olisi toisena, tismalleen saman tekstin kanssa kuin edellisessä, mutta tässä Weikin loppupään aliarvostetussa rallissa on klassisen Helloweenin meininkiä.

Straight Out Of Hell - Burning Sun
-2013 sinkkubiisi jäi liian vähälle huomiolle silloin; tästä näyttää tulevan melkoinen Weikath-lista mulla

My God-Given Right - If God Loves Rock n' Roll
-Andin napakka 3min 22s rokkirallatus olisi omiaan johonkin väliin, kuitenkin oma suosikkini uusimmalta, taas ed. kanssa yhtenevin perustein olevan Weikin Creatures In Heavenin kera.
